Low-Rank Methods in Event Detection

چکیده
We present low-rank methods for event detection. We assume that normal observation come from a low-rank subspace, prior to being corrupted by a uniformly distributed noise. Correspondingly, we aim at recovering a representation of the subspace, and perform event detection by running point-to-subspace distance query in `∞, for each incoming observation. In particular, we use a variant of matrix completion under interval uncertainty on a suitable flattening M ∈ Rm×n of the input data to obtain a low-rank model M ≈ L × R, L ∈ Rm×r, R ∈ Rr×n, r m. On-line, we compute the distance of each incoming x ∈ R to the space spanned by R. For the distance computation, we present a constant-time algorithm with a one-sided error bounded by a function of the number of coordinates employed. Our experimental evaluation illustrates the benefit of the approach proposed.

Separation Between Anomalous Targets and Background Based on the Decomposition of Reduced Dimension Hyperspectral Image
The application of anomaly detection has been given a special place among the different processings of hyperspectral images. Nowadays, many of the methods only use background information to detect between anomaly pixels and background. Due to noise and the presence of anomaly pixels in the background, the assumption of the specific statistical distribution of the background, as well as the co...
متن کاملComplex event recognition using constrained low-rank representation
a r t i c l e i n f o Complex event recognition is the problem of recognizing events in long and unconstrained videos. In this extremely challenging task, concepts have recently shown a promising direction where core low-level events (referred to as concepts) are annotated and modeled using a portion of the training data, then each complex event is described using concept scores, which are feat...

In recent years, business process management (BPM) has been highly regarded as an improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of organizations. Extracting and analyzing information on business processes is an important part of this structure. But these processes are not sustainable over time and may change for a variety of reasons, such as the environment and human resources. These changes ...
متن کاملTJU-TJUT@TRECVID 2015: Surveillance Event Detection
In this paper, we present an event detection system evaluated in 2015 TRECVID-SED. The system consists of two parts: automatic event detection (retrospective) and interactive event detection with human in the loop (interactive). For the retrospective part, an extended spatio-temporal features, MoSIFT, is extracted, and two types of temporal divisions (annotation partition and sliding window) ar...
